The Fault in Our Stars is a worldwide craze right now. With the film version due for release on 6th June 2014, it seems that everybody has either read and re-read the book over and over due to loving it so much or is currently reading John Green’s 2012 novel to get an idea of the story before they go to the cinema.

Guilty as charged, I was indeed one of those latter people.

Shakespeare: 'The Lady Doth Protest Too Much, Methinks'

There is no doubting that William Shakespeare still holds the title of the best use of modern English language in literature. We speak today with the influence of Shakespearian words and phrases in our mother tongue as English people, with the great man himself coining around 1,700 words. There was no dictionary for him to refer to whilst writing his plays, sonnets or poems. There was no way of knowing that he was doing things right, but he did them anyway and is now widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist.

But even the best of the best can get things wrong, occasionally.

Here are, in my opinion, the three worst plays that Shakespeare has written.

Shakespeare: 'There is Nothing Either Good or Bad, But Thinking Makes It So'

Today we celebrate the life of the great William Shakespeare on what would have been his 450th birthday if the speculations regarding his birthday are true. It is also the 398th anniversary of his death today also, as it is believed that both his day of birth and day of death is the 23rd April.

So, with this day being inherently Shakespeare, it only seems fitting to discuss his best works.

Here are my top three choices for Shakespeare’s best plays.

Easter: Top 3 Bunny Characters in Literature

4/20/2014

Easter is upon us, so it would only be fitting to describe the prolific Easter Bunny himself! Well, at least, the top three greatest bunny characters in literature, as the Easter Bunny is simply a personification of what Easter is. With Easter eggs being a staple image for the celebration of Easter, how did a rabbit end up delivering chocolate eggs to children around the world?

Rabbits were first thought to be associated with the Easter holiday due to their symbolism of new life and rebirth during Spring. They are associated with the Teutonic deity Eostra, a Pagan Goddess who serves as a namesake of the Easter festival. Her partnership with the event of Easter died out with the emergence of Christian beliefs of Jesus’ resurrection, which is now the most common reasoning behind celebrating Easter.

Let’s look at the top three (Easter) bunnies in literature!

Who doesn’t love a good fairytale?

The Brothers Grimm (or Die Gebrüder Grimm) are two brothers who are famous for their imaginative stories that have captivated the world for centuries. Jacob Ludwig Carl and Wilhelm Carl Grimm were born a year apart (Jacob in 1785 and Wilhelm in 1786) and were both successful linguists, academics and authors who collaborated together on a number of folklore projects, collecting and publishing their versions of original fairy tales.

So, we know that everyone at IWG Books likes to read. We have discussed our favourite books, characters, plot lines and villains; but how about comfort when it comes to enjoying your favourite pastime? No, not the comforting characters or words found in the book itself, what we’re talking about here today are the most comfortable positions that people read in. If you’re like me and can remain with your nose in a book for hours on end, you've got to be comfortable whilst doing so, right?

Here are three of the top ways of ensuring aches and pains does not interrupt your reading time, whether that be with a printed book or eBook on a handheld tablet device.

Review: The Ninth Life of Louis Drax

Many people agree that to test whether a book is worth reading would be to read the first line. If you get through it and nothing grabs you, many people would put the book down and continue in their search for their next favourite book. The very first, opening line is precisely what will make you read The Ninth Life of Louis Drax by Liz Jensen.

'I'm not most kids. I'm Louis Drax. Stuff happens to me that shouldn't happen, like going on a picnic where you drown’.

‘You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.’

This is one of my favourite quotes of all time. It proves that nothing is ever impossible, that if you can dream something then why not do it. It is a reminder that there is always another door to open after one shuts behind you.
