As if we couldn’t love her anymore (I mean, come on, she was a billionaire and lost that status because she donated so much to charity), J. K. Rowling has gone and done it again. She’s approved a bibliography behind the making of her hit book series, Harry Potter. Now we’re finding out that a new book, J.K. Rowling: A Bibliography 1997-2013, is being released. The book is going to be detailing some of the action that took place behind the scenes of the hit series.

Quite a few people, all within the span of several days, rejected me. Several of the responses were pleasant. A couple of the emails were quite rude. One that I received earlier in the week was so rude, I nearly cried. I’ve been doing really well with the Project. It’s been amazing, receiving all the answers, sorting through them and finding out who has picked which book(s) (then proceeding to flail all over the place). While 90% to 95% of the responses are outstanding, I would by lying if I didn’t admit there have been quite a few disappointments. Of course, there are disappointments – it’s to be expected. However, the good always outweighs the bad for this project. by Laura W Oh, 50 Shades. What could we possibly say about this series? By now, we all know the basic story. Young, somewhat naïve Anastasia Steele is sent, in the place of her best friend Kate, to interview gazillionaire Christian Grey. After a somewhat interesting interview, the two embark into a tumultuous relationship (or adventure, depending on how you look at it). The story initially started out as Twilight (I can hear the groaning already) fan fiction. While not entirely identical, Twilight (which came first, let’s just make this clear) and 50 Shades do share some very striking similarities. Let’s take a look at some of the similarities. by Laura W I have to admit something. It’s not very often that I finish a book and immediately reread it. Actually, it has never happened for me, an avid reader. I have never finished a book and immediately started it over again. However, I did with Jojo Moyes’ 2012 hit novel, Me Before You. The novel has hit the tops of the best-seller lists in Britain. I’ll be frank though, read this review with caution. by Laura W Okay. How exactly is this connected to books, IWG or whatever? It is, but it isn’t. I’ve noticed that quite a few writers/authors seem to have playlists that they listen to when they write. Apparently, Stephanie Meyer is a fan of the band Muse and listened to them while she was writing the Twilight series. Why, when I’m not an author, should I have a playlist to keep me entertained while I write letter after letter, asking people to contribute to my project? Several reasons, I guess. One is I get distracted easily. Secondly, the music does actually keep me entertained while I write the letters. Another is, I realized earlier, that most of the songs somehow tie into whom I am writing to (and this was purely coincidental) and relate to some form of literature. Here are just a few: by Laura W The Nanny Book Project is nearing its first birthday (and I’ll be all over that!). It’s become such a near-daily thing; I’m not really sure what I’d be doing without it taking up my spare time. While it’s been quite an undertaking (an undertaking of love, however!), it’s been fun. What could the Project possibly need? Well, apart from a pile of British stamps (397 stamps to be exact), blue airmail stickers, decent envelopes, paper and unlimited hours in the day, this is more of whom I’d like to hear from. Hence, what is known as The Wishlist. There are quite a few people I would adore to hear from, many of whom I have written to but haven’t heard anything back from. The Wishlist was originally broken down into categories. It was then turned into a list of goals, which had things on such as “Someone who has portrayed a famous literary character”. After snagging a majority of my goals, it then turned into a top 10, before turning into just a list of people I really, really want to hear from. The following are just some of whom I’d love to hear from and why. Honestly, the list is huge, but I’ve honestly tried to narrow it down for this, and I’m really, really sorry to the editors, who have been SO patient with this project. by Laura W It’s like one of my biggest literary dreams has come true – there is finally an actual, illustrated version of Harry Potter. To think that, now, there are actually pictures to go along with the story takes the “magic” of the books that much higher! by Laura W There’s constant talk about how certain books should be made into films. How would they translate to film? Who would they cast? However, what about books that should be turned into something for the stage? Over the years, we’ve had plays and musicals like War Horse, The Phantom of the Opera, Matilda, Legally Blonde (yes, you read that correctly – it was a book before the films) and Frankenstein. We’re even getting a stage adaptation of The Hunger Games next year. Here are a few books that should be brought to life on the stage. By Laura W I have a feeling this is going to be one of the most painful (no pun intended) articles I’ve ever had to write. With a film adaptation being released on February of this year, we might as well take a look at the original material. I’m terribly sorry, in advance, for any puns that may come up in this article. All of them are VERY much unintentional. SPOILERS abound. by the IWG Book Team 2014 was a great year for books. Unfortunately, there were so many books that we're sure that you didn't get around to reading everything. Neither did we, but still, the I'm With Geek team diligently selected from what literary delights we had devoured which were our favourite reads of the year.
