The big day has come. Stephen King’s new novel has finally been released. It is available, it is there; YES you can buy it and yes you can have it for yourself now, the wait is over! Were you amongst the crowds of people flooding into the bookshops all over the UK or have you perhaps made a purchase on-line or had your pre-order sorted and secured weeks ago? The series of short animations have now come together into a full book trailer which not only gathers them and presents in the right order but also an extra eight second scene is added, which is relevant to Mr Mercedes’ awaited disclosure.
In the full trailer things seem to have been put in the right order. One cannot possibly ignore the fact how perfectly last words of Andy from Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption are completed by Carrie’s first words. What we hear now, if we watch trailer #4 preceding trailer #2, is: “…But in the wrong hands – power will always reveal itself”. It does make sense, doesn’t it? Pieces are slowly falling into right place, especially with Mr Mercedes at long last taking on his own introduction. Regardless of the message, his voice is convincingly sinister and in this voice he sends a warning or a threat, if you wish, wrapped up in the form of a statement. Since both the voice can be heard and the message being typed up on the screen can be seen, we assume that Mr Mercedes will not underestimate the power of digital channels of communication – in other words: will he be more modern and far more creative than those old-fashioned freaks composing messages out of newspaper clippings; it is the twenty-first century after all.
It is time to throw some final evaluations; thoughts? Was the whole conception to your liking? Did it give a boost to your imagination and most importantly, has it convinced or inspired you to buy a book? If there were any NO's amongst your answers, you should definitely watch below and see what you might be missing out on. Nevertheless, a new villain is here and you will not see him coming…
