Happy Towel Day to all you Douglas Adams fans all over the world!
Today we’re having an Author Corner special edition especially to celebrate the life and works of Douglas Noel Adams, writer and dramatist known primarily for his The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book series, which is of course what Towel Day itself is borne from.

After University, Adams moved to London to begin his career, aspiring to become a writer for both TV and radio. He was successful in his venture and was discovered by Graham Chapman, who is of course one sixth of the famous British surreal comedy group Monty Python, with whom Adams formed a strong but brief writing partnership, producing episode forty-five of Monty Python, entitled ‘Patient Abuse’. Adams also appeared on the screen for Monty Python with two small parts in the fourth series of Monty Python's Flying Circus, at the beginning of episode fourty-two and in episode fourty-four. After this stint with Chapman, which also produced Out of the Trees (a 1975 television sketch show pilot written in the style of Monty Python), Adams faced a rough patch in his career and had to take up odd jobs to provide his income while his writing unfortunately had to be put onto the backburner.

From everyone at IWG, have a great day and carry your towel proudly!
